‘So that he may be accepted’ (lirṣōnô) sums up the ritual’s purpose for the offerer. Rāṣôn means ‘favour’, and when it constitutes a phrase (lirṣōnô) it describes the offerer’s acceptance by divine favour (cf. 22:19; see further 19:5; 22:29; 23:11).
